The Hungarian Association of Physics Students gladly announces that the Balaton Summer School in Physics will be organised this year again. Wide spectrum of topics will be covered on the physics of gravitational waves in four sections: general relativity, astrophysics, laser physics and on the physics of gravitational wave detectors. A poster session will be held for students eager to present their own research.

The official language of the Summer School will be English. The lecturers will be acknowledged researchers of the LIGO and the VIRGO collaboration. Professor Peter Saulson, former spokesman of LIGO will open the school and hold the first lecture. It is a great opportunity to spend a week with approximately eighty physics students from all around the world at Lake Balaton, the largest lake of Central Europe.

You will not only have the opportunity to learn, but to personally meet the professors and have a conversation with them in a friendly atmosphere. Besides the lectures we will provide you a high variety of entertainment. On the day off excursions will be held around the Lake. Visiting the beach will not be hard as it’s a one minute’s walk away.
