You will be able to choose from a variety of optional excursions. However, the excursion day is not mandatory, you can choose to stay at Keszthely and have some free-time.
Both excursions start with a trip to Tihany where you can admire the exceptional scenery, the abbey and the charming village at the top of the hill. Here you have the opportunity to participate in a sightseeing – guided by the organizers – and/or you will have some free-time to enjoy the place.
On the way back to Keszthely you will have two options. You can either visit the Tapolca Lake Cave or the Folly Arboretum and Winery. Tapolca Lake Cave is a tortuous flooded karst cave where the visitors can make a unique boat trip on the lit, bluish water of the underground lake. Folly Arboretum and Winery is a 110 years old flourishing garden and wineyard with centuries-old cedars and enchanting view to Lake Balaton and Badacsony. Here you will participate in a wine tasting with three types of wines from the wineyard complementary with home-made snacks.
The excursions cost 4000 HUF additional fee.
This price includes either the ticket for the Folly Arboretum and Winery and the wine tasting (3×0.5dl) with snacks or the ticket to the Tapolca Lake Cave, guided tour with audio-guide and boating in the cave. Both excursions include the trip to Tihany with sightseeing.
